Crema.co Coffee Subscription Overview and Review

Since their successful Kickstarter campaign in the Spring of 2015, I’ve been curious about Crema.co. I have heard good things about the coffee subscription service but had not gotten around to trying it. When I was given the opportunity by the Crema.co team to sample their subscription this month, I jumped at the chance to experience their take on coffee subscriptions and write a review.

I took their coffee preference survey, ordered a bag of coffee and patiently waited for my Panama Mama Cata Toña from PT’s Coffee Roasting to arrive. I was not disappointed. The service was exceptional, the coffee was delicious and I liked the little touches that differentiate Crema.co from other coffee subscriptions I have tried.

Here is an overview and review of the coffee subscription service Crema.co:

What is Crema.co

Crema.co is a coffee subscription service that focuses on telling the stories of the coffee they ship. From the farm and the region it was grown in, to the processing and who roasted it, Crema.co wants you to know the personal side of craft coffee.

Crema.co prides themselves on being storytellers. Each single origin coffee has a unique page with information on origin and processing. There is a bio on each farmer that grew a particular coffee and information on the general region the coffee is from. Each roaster has a nice write up that tells their story as well.

The Minos Moka Pot- Stovetop Espresso Maker

In full disclosure, the fine folks over at Minos Living sent me over a Minos Moka Pot free of charge to get my feedback and as a possible subject for a product review.

In the coffee business there are a few brewers that are long-standing classics, overwhelmingly dominate in their field, true icons. The Bialetti Stove Top Espresso maker stands out as one such icon, nearly untouchable and uncontested.

If you search Amazon for stove top espresso makers, you will see the Original Bialetti Moka Express at the top and then the rest of the page is mostly knock-offs sporting the same basic design. There is also the Bialetti Venus and all it’s knock-offs. It isn’t until you get to the fourth page (at least for me) that you come across something different, a uniquely designed, rounded (almost egg shaped) moka pot with a pop of color, the Minos Moka Pot.

The ColdWave- Simple and Delicious Iced Coffee

It is the end of July, which usually means the temperatures are soaring. It’s muggy. It’s gross. It is however, the perfect weather for enjoying a refreshingly cold iced coffee.

In the past, I’ve talked about cold brew, Japanese iced coffee, Kyoto drip coffee, and iced Aeropress shake ups. I’ve even talked about coffee cold brewed with a vacuum cleaner. Today I want to discuss a new product that was sent to me for review. The ColdWave by Ice Cold Now.

I typically don’t agree to do sponsored posts unless I am pretty gungho about the product. When a representative from Ice Cold Now got in touch and asked if I would like to do I review, I went over to their website and checked it out. I was excited about the concept and decided to check it out.

What is the ColdWave?

The ColdWave is a beverage chiller. It can take a cup of hot coffee and chill it down to near freezing temperatures in about two minutes. It consists of a squarish (baseball diamondish) shaped pitcher about 5 inches by 5 inches and 6 inches high. There is also the cooling mechanism an insert that fits snuggly into the pitcher.

The ColdWave is made out of BPA free plastic and purified water. The insert stores in your freezer so it will always be ready for deployment at a moments notice.
